Its subversive in it's rejection of what is normal, the taboo's of abstract art. This is about freedom of self-expression and the rejection of rules, the straight jacket of 'notes' rather than the liberty to roam with the tone. There is, I assume, a degree of imteraction between the players in this type of non-music,but as far as I can see they could be in different rooms with no means of monitoring the other members of either 'The Sextet' or the 'Quartet'.but that's not the point is it? Personally I like the idea of four or six seperate entities doing their thing independently but ending up on the same record.not that this was the concept of course.
